Cranberries & Slim Artificial Christmas Trees

Cranberries are something that many people love seeing during the holiday season. They are not only going to be on the table in some form or another, but they are a great concept for your slim artificial Christmas trees décor. How can you use cranberries on your slim artificial Christmas trees? Here are a few ideas:

1. Get artificial cranberries and stick these throughout your slim artificial Christmas trees to add a deep red color to your tree.

2. Use white filler ornaments to really make your cranberries stick out on your slim artificial Christmas trees.

3. Use a tree skirt on your slim artificial Christmas trees that are cranberry in color to make this deep red color the center focus.

This is a special recipe that many people only serve at Christmas since it is so decadent and utilizes cranberries in place of the traditional cranberry sauce. To make this:

Ingredients

For the Christmas cranberry pudding

12 ounces cranberries
2 2/3 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 cup dark molasses
1 cup warm water

Special equipment: Steamer with 9-inch round pan OR large stock pot and 9-inch round cake pan

For the butter sauce

½ cup butter
½ cup half and half
1 cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Cut the cranberries in half. Pour into a strainer and wash the seeds.
  2. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt to a large bowl and mix. Gradually mix dark molasses and warm water. Pour the blueberries there. Grease the round mold and pour the cranberry mixture into the pan.
  3. Pour the water into the steamer, place the pot inside the steamer and close the lid. (If you do not have a steamer, put a large pot and raise the cake tin, such as a table tripod, pastry cutter, empty tuna can, folded towel, etc. Then place the pan on the edge of the pot. Hold the pot approximately You have to fill half of it with water.)
  4. Boil the water, steam for about two and a half hours, check the water level regularly every 30 minutes and refill if necessary. Put a toothpick in the middle and when it comes out clean, the pudding is ready. Let the pudding cool. The pudding can be prepared in advance and served at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  5. When ready to serve, make the butter sauce. Place in a pan over low heat to melt the butter and stir constantly. Add half and sugar and mix, then add the vanilla. To serve, slice the pudding and pour the butter sauce over it.
